Riley singing "Noel"
We all had a good laugh after Riley's Christmas Choir performance. McKenzie noticed that Riley would have her tongue stick out as FAR as she could when she sang the word "Noel" so I got a picture of this. We all tried to do the same going home in the car. Try it...it's pretty funny! Riley loved the picture and it is now her background on her cell phone.

We cut our own Christmas tree this year.
We decided to go up to Lake Tahoe, buy a tree cutting permit and cut our own tree this year. We had the "Christmas Vacation" movie on our minds as we drove up the mountain. Judy suggested that we take a stick up to measure, so I used my painting pole and we could size up potential trees easily. Jeremy and McKenzie were set on chopping down a tree with an axe, but I over ruled with the use a of cordless reciprocating saw. It was the biggest tree lot, I have ever been in. We walked probably only a 1/4 mile from the truck. Seemed like a 1/2 mile when it came time to carry the tree back out! It was a lot of fun.

Riley with Gov.Sarah Palin - The other perspective!

Our Saturday project
Always seems to take longer to do your own projects at home.
The guy that put in our shutters in the garge thought we were crazy. Since he left a 1" gap at the bottom of them and he wanted to finish them to something. Now, it makes more sense.
Another honey do item done! At least we are on our way.
Judy will not rest until the garage is clean.
I do have to admit. It looks nicer than the stack of wood with stuff piled on top of it.
Great place for Judy's garden stuff.

Riley Meets Sarah Palin at Campaign Rally in Carson City - 9/13/08
Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin shakes hands with a girl after speaking Saturday at a campaign rally in Carson City.
Las Vegas Review Journal got the shot! (Click on title to see article)
I had a hard time pushing through the crowd to get Riley up front. We were standing about 75' back during the speech. Then after the speech I decided to attempt to get to the front. Judy held onto the back of my shirt and I proceeded to push forward. I made a few friends along the way. :-)
As I got within 10' of the short fence where the secret service was walking along with Sarah Palin. An aide of Sarah Palin's signaled that I needed to get Riley up to the front. The Sea of people did not part, so I pushed on through. It was just full body to body contact squeezing to the front!
Once there, Riley was putting her hands up and calling, Sarah, Sarah!
Sarah Palin was saying, Hi to many people up the line. Then when she caught sight of Riley, came over and said, changing her tone, "Hi, What is your name?"
Riley answered, "Riley".
Sarah said, "You are Beautiful." Riley replied, "Thank You."
Sarah then called for her husband, Todd to come on over.
Riley enjoyed the rally as you can see from the picture!
Here is some of the speech.....

Riley took this picture of Cooper. He likes it back to normal around here!
He's our "Chicken" of a watch dog!
He is scared of tape measures, cats and does not like the "Water Bottle".
He eats almost anything edible with the exception of mustand & hot sauce.
He tries to be a male dog out in front by lifting his leg to relieve himself, but squats in the backyard.
At 40 lbs, he is one big pug!
We love our Cooper!
Well, at least most of the time.
At least he doesn't do this!
